Steps to Secure Your Facebook Account:

  1. Log in to Facebook, check if the email matches the account, and verify the email password.

2. Change the Hotmail password and add a recovery email for Hotmail.
   - When logging into Hotmail, make sure phone verification is completed. Use incognito mode and your home LAN network to avoid phone verification triggers.

   - Change the email password here: [Change Password](https://account.live.com/password/change)
   - Add a recovery email here: [Add Recovery Email](https://account.live.com/proofs/manage/additional)

If Hotmail already has a recovery email, you can add a new one and wait 30 days. During this period, the email will still be accessible.

3. Change the Facebook password without delay by recovering the account. Click "Forgot Password" to set a new password.

4. For long-term use, add a new email to the Facebook account. Currently, Facebook restricts deleting the old email or replacing 2FA for new accounts. You’ll need to wait 30 days to delete the old email. If you’ve already changed the Hotmail password, there’s no need to add a new email.

Note: Facebook currently reverts to the old phone number and email associated with the account, which makes it easier to trigger phone verification if you’re spamming or conducting certain activities. Building up trust on the account is essential before removing any linked phone number that Facebook may revert.

By following steps 2 and 3 carefully, you can avoid the risk of the account being taken back.
